If you’re a high school student interested in business, DECA competitions are an excellent way to gain hands-on experience. These events follow National Curriculum Standards across key areas like marketing, finance, business management, and hospitality. First-year members can begin with Principles of Business Administration Events, where they present basic business ideas in a structured, competitive setting.

As students advance, Individual Series Events introduce real-world business challenges through role-play scenarios tailored to specific career fields. For those who prefer teamwork, Team Decision Making Events involve solving business cases with a partner. The Personal Financial Literacy Event focuses on making informed financial choices using sound decision-making skills. Students interested in research can explore Business Operations Research Events, which involve conducting and presenting in-depth studies on current business topics. Project Management Events offer a chance to apply full-cycle project planning and execution skills, either solo or as part of a team.

Please note: This information is compiled from publicly available sources and may change from year to year. Dates, locations, fees, and other details are subject to updates—please verify all information directly on the official competition website before applying.
