MIT THINK Scholar Program

Location:
Virtual (Finalists are invited to visit MIT campus in Cambridge, MA)
Cost:
Free to apply. Finalists receive up to $1,000 in funding and an all-expenses-paid trip to MIT.
Contest Date:
Project work for finalists typically runs from February to June.
Application Deadlines:

Eligibility:
Open to full-time U.S. high school students (citizenship not required). Applicants may apply individually or in teams of up to two students.

The MIT THINK Scholar Program encourages high school students to turn innovative science and engineering ideas into real-world projects. Applicants submit a detailed research proposal outlining a novel STEM idea. Finalists receive mentorship from MIT students, project funding, and a campus visit. Over the spring semester, finalists develop their ideas into working projects with guidance from the MIT community, culminating in a final report and potential recognition as a THINK Scholar.
