Vex Robotics Competitions

Location:
In‑person in Dallas, Texas at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center (May 6–8, 2025)
Cost:
Team registration fee is $200 for the 2025–2026 season. Local qualifying event fees typically range from $50–$100, though virtual scrimmages can be free. Signature or World Championship events may be higher

Application Deadlines:
Registration deadline varies by event. For signature championship events, team registration fee cancellations must be received by April 4, 2025 for full refund. Season team registration must be completed by December 19, 2025
Eligibility:
Teams of middle or high school students compete in the VEX V5 Robotics Competition. (Elementary and middle school students compete in VEX IQ.) Teams are student‑led but coached, and must follow the REC Foundation Code of Conduct

VEX Robotics is the world’s largest robotics competition program for middle and high school students. Teams design, build, program, and operate robots to meet a new game challenge each year. Regional and national qualifying events lead up to the annual World Championship in Dallas. Judged awards consider engineering notebooks, design, interviews, and performance, offering a blend of teamwork, STEM learning, and competition.
