VSA Playwright Discovery Program Competitions

Eligibility:
High school seniors or younger (generally ages 14–19) enrolled in grades 9–12 on January 8, 2025, and at least one author must identify as a student with a disability. Entries may be solo or co‑authored (up to two students)

Young writers with disabilities—or teams including one—are invited to submit an original ten‑minute script in English or ASL. Selected winners participate in a developmental writing fellowship featuring virtual coaching and an in‑person workshop in D.C., working with dramaturgs and industry professionals. Winners also receive a $1,000 prize (split if co‑authored)
