Essays (approximately 1,000 words) should connect a family story, regional or cultural history, or personally relevant historical issue to broader global themes. Winners receive a $500 cash award plus a free one‑year membership in the World History Association. Essays are evaluated on clarity of thesis, critical thinking, organization, and reflection on how understanding world history shapes personal identity.
