December 14 Zoom Meeting Recap: Student Stories and Backgrounds

On December 14, NextGenEd hosted a Zoom meeting centered on student stories, identity, and the experiences that shape strong college applications. The session began with students introducing themselves and sharing their backgrounds. Many participants described the communities they come from, the cultures that have influenced them, and even showed their native languages in the chat and on screen.

Students spoke about how their backgrounds have impacted their high school experiences, the responsibilities they carry, and the moments that have shaped their goals. As the conversation continued, students connected these reflections to college essays and personal statements, discussing how identity, culture, and lived experiences can become powerful, authentic narratives when written with clarity and purpose.

The most meaningful part of the event was the sense of community. Students were not just presenting themselves, they were learning from each other and realizing they are not alone in the application process. NextGenEd is proud to build spaces like this where students can be seen, supported, and empowered through peer connection.
